My boyfriend's red sauce tasted canned, while my white sauce was just okay. It's a shame these little creatures had to sacrifice their lives for such a meal. I ended up bringing most of it home in a doggy bag because it was that bad, and I promptly threw it in the trash. 3. The salad, which cost extra, was disappointing. A tip for salad makers: using too much dried oregano isn't pleasant. Thankfully, the gorgonzola made mine somewhat edible, but my boyfriend's plain salad just tasted like it had olive oil poured over it. I've been cooking for nearly 50 years and have won two national cooking contests; I know good food when I taste it. My advice to anyone considering a visit to Lorenzo's? Bring a sandwich.
We arrived to an empty front area, with many people walking by, but no one greeted us or offered to seat us. After about five minutes, the busboy finally seated us and brought us some bread and butter. However, for the next 20 minutes, we watched as other tables received attention from waitstaff while we were completely overlooked. Frustrated, my boyfriend got up to find someone to help us, only to be ignored for another five minutes. Eventually, the busboy, the only one who had inquired about our situation, listened to our concerns. We decided to leave, but not without letting someone know as we were exiting that the service was absolutely terrible!
Lorenzo's is a slice of Italian paradise. They offer an extensive menu along with numerous daily specials. Their seafood, steaks, and veal are exceptional. The kitchen is also willing to customize many dishes to meet your personal preferences. In my view, Lorenzo's is the best option for Italian cuisine in the South Broward/North Dade area. The food feels like it’s made in a traditional Italian home kitchen. Don’t miss their fantastic buffet on Sunday evenings!
