Checkered Pig Bbq And Ribs - Danville

The atmosphere is that of a fast food joint, the service 'ok ' and the food was not that good. I had a small BBQ lunch plate. The BBQ was tough and dry, the baked beans came out of a no name brand of canned beans and the hush puppies had no flavor unless you count that of all the grease.This was my first last time there, fast food chicken or burger places are better.

I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now, but I myself am not a huge barbecue fan. My son loves barbecue, so I decided to treat him to lunch, and check out the Checkered Pig.It had a nice homey feel to it, the hostess was friendly, and our waitress was awesome. I opted for a basic salad while my son ordered the BBQ Pork with hush puppies and onion rings, and we both had a diet soda. My salad was unremarkable, but fresh, and my son really enjoyed his pulled pork platter.Due to the very friendly atmosphere and comfy family vibe, I would definitely visit again.Cost before tip $29.52

While otw back to Elon, NC after obtaining tires me and my nephew stopped by. He got brisket and I got 6 piece all flat wings. Now then add/drench the wings with there premiere hot sauce and ? HOLY MOLY....Dip that in the blue cheese and enter flavor city. Cannot wait to try again!!

The quantity of food has decreased. The floors were filthy with food and the server said she had a big party then another server said they haven't hardly had customers for two days. The bathroom was dirtier than an old gas station toilet. The base was black and the floors and walls were awful. It takes away from the food when you worry about the cleanliness.

Always stop here when traveling to NC. My favorite BBQ anywhere!
