My bf and I came back from Portugal last week and fell in love with the Iberian sandwiches. We were so excited to try the Iberian sandwich from RT when we came home. The ham was delicious and I loved the pairing of chips and olives. The sandwich was not as freshly sliced and the bread was very dense. Maybe it's preference, but I prefer a baguette or something thinner.Overall tasty and great quality.
I only grabbed a sandwich, then ran, but the few seconds I spent here were nice. The employee's smile was so warm! The sandwich ended up being super tasty too. I forgot how much I love jamon, but it reminded me!
This is a very very very nice and cute little shop! We only made a brief visit, but we will come back next time I find myself in Philadelphia. They have a lot of nice and hard-to-find imported Spanish items here from tea to honey, tomato sauce, olive oil, meats and cheeses, prosciutto, snacks, breakfast sandwiches, canned goods including fish, horchata, cutlery, pottery, and much more! This is a small and enclosed space, but that is part of what makes it feel cozy and look cute. The people who work here are also very nice as well. I bought the horchata and this was my first time trying a Spanish horchata (I tried the Mexican and El Salvadoran horchata many times before, but this was my first time trying the Spanish one). Next time I come, I want to try their breakfast sandwich for sure!
During my visit today, I had a nice conversation with Vanessa, the owner. She is very friendly and welcoming just like her husband. She explained that she made the prepared food. The octopus salad is fresh and tasty, a nice light lunch. The iberico ham sandwich is made in a soft ciabatta bread. The ham is similar to prosciutto but it is more delicate and less salty. I love it. The container is environmentally friendly and even the spoons are made of wood. Another reason to support this business
