It 's sort of like the Urban Outfitters of restaurants: everything looks almost cool and edgy, but it 's really just mid. The interior design stands out, but it 's not striking. It 's like artificial intelligence read every issue of Architectural Digest and then tried to create something that matched normative trendiness. The beer list is strong, a well curated selection of microbrews (mostly local) that guarantees something for everyone. Reading the menu, you 'll think: wow, this place is great. They 're killing it on presentation, first-impressions, facade. But then, the food comes, and it 's commonplace. Not bad. Nothing to complain about. The burger was pleasant--the raclette and garlic aoli meld into a nice creamy richness that juxtaposes nicely with the juicy-crumble of ground beef. But the pickles didn 't really shine through, and the brioche bun was the same as every other brioche bun everywhere. The burger could 've used something acidic, sweet sour like a fancy homemade ketchup, or a caramelized onion jam. The menu says it 's a brisket burger, but it didn 't really have melting beef tallow running onto the plate like I 'd expect, which suggests it 's either precooked, or not brisket. Fries were also lackluster: crispy and salty enough, but no better than the average New Jersey diner. So, it 's a standard burger at a luxury price point. We also ordered a steak. Kudos for offering the flat-iron cut, it 's highly underrated and I wish more places sold it. They cooked it perfectly, and all the sides were also well-prepared. But nothing was exceptional, nothing stood out. I have barely anything to say about it. It 's just a steak, probably USDA Choice, not Prime. Bottom line: there 's no reason not to go here if you 're looking for a pleasant place to talk with dining companions and eat reasonably good food. On the surface, it seems like a hot foodie paradise, and then once you wade in, the whole experience is tepid. I 'd go back, but I wouldn 't expect much.
Brunch spot on Front Street. Indoor and outdoor dining. There was a baby shower upstairs too. My order of thick cut brioche french toast with a glass of black peach ice tea was enjoyable. 9.5/10. Parking: You might get lucky with street parking. There is a paid lot one block over.
Great gluten free options, creative cocktails, street parking is free on Sundays. Wonderful atmosphere.
