J chicken was the only thing okay. All they did was use the already made j sauce and bake them. Don’t waste your money, not good!
Great customer service, food presentation could use some work but all in all I will be back to support a fellow black owner business in my neighborhood
This was one of the better soul food spots in Philly and that's saying a lot cause I'm from Texas. There was one person running this kitchen and she was so friendly and threw it down in the kitchen. I got the whitening fish and the ox tail. She put so much oxtail meat in my plate and even asked me if I had enough gravy on the plate before she wrapped for me. The sides I got was Mac n cheese, candied yams, collard greens, and rice. OOOOWEEEE BOY lemme tell y'all that food SMACKED. It was so damn good I had to go on yelp and leave a review.
I placed an order from Yo Mamas Kitchen through UberEats. I decided to get the baked turkey wing platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I was pleasantly surprised !! My platter was absolutely delicious. The turkey wings were seasoned perfectly, the macaroni and cheese was good, I expected a little bit more cheesiness nevertheless it still was good., The greens were so tender, damn near melted in mouth. Minus the delay in my delivery I give Ya Mamas Kitchen four stars !!!!
I was turned onto this place by a surplus food app. On the app I placed an order for this restaurant and was given a designated time for pick up. Generally the surplus meals cost approximately $3.99 this particular meal was priced at $5,99 with an overall value listed, $18 worth of food, Because this place was localish and Black owned I figured I'd give it a try. If the service and food was good, a value I would return without using the app paying regular price. Well that's not gonna happen!! The one person in the store was pretty busy so I'll give them a pass on the customer service because he wasn't unpleasant. After waiting (upside it was already packaged) a while I was given two drumsticks gravy rice and collard greens. The value on the menu for brown stewed chicken is $13.00. Other restaurants offer much more for that price. However the listed value was $18 for surplus food. It may have reached that if he had given me the last two pieces of the old sweet potato pie sitting at the counter. Considering the food was just OK no need for a return trip!.
