The Cashew chicken and beef with black bean had no flavor and I couldn't even tell if the meat was real because it had no texture. Even the fried rice was bland. I would recommend ordering something else for lunch or dinner. The only positive was that the prawn crackers seemed fresh, so I am giving it one star. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Although Lotus Court is my local Chinese restaurant, I usually avoid it because the food hasn't been great in the past. However, for New Year's Eve, the kids wanted Chinese food and all of our usual go-to places were closed. So, I decided to give Lotus Court another try, but I regretted it. Both of our main dishes (sweet and sour pork and honey chicken) were overcooked, the meat was dry, and the sauces lacked flavor. We didn't end up eating much of it. The spring rolls were okay, but they were bland and not enough to salvage the rest of the meal. The kids went to bed disappointed that the food was inedible and ended up filling up on drinks instead.
A1 takeaway experience, including.... phone call with patient checks from staff that order was understood and correct. Prompt service on arrival (figuring out that I was probably the person who had earlier placed order by phone checking to see if my Amex card was accepted...(it was! without surcharge!! , providing a tax invoice no problem freshly prepared food that was first-rate. Recommend highly.
My Mother had booked us in for my birthday lunch and we were quite excited to go there. She had visited them the previous day to check if they had vegetarian meals for me. She even asked them if they had vegetarian lunch specials which...the two boys replied, yes . We met up there today and sat inside (about eight of us) and they were quite accommodating. Then the first problem came. While we were ordering, they asked us if we would like to dine in or takeaway. We were always planning to dine in, so we told them so, at which point they said there will be a $1 fee per person. I asked them what the $1 fee was for and they replied that it is a dish washing fee. I then questioned them if we got the takeaway containers instead, could we still eat in the restaurant, and she replied that we could. So, okay, I wasn 't too upset with that, but I thought it was a bit silly. I mean, their staff are there already. Why do they need the extra $1? Profiteering I suspect. Anyway, once it was my turn to order, I asked them what could I order from the lunch specials that was vegetarian. With a bit of hesitation and a bit of a conversation in Chinese between the workers, they said there was nothing I could order. Okay fair enough I wasn 't too upset, because the normal vegetarian menu wasn 't much more expensive than the lunch specials. My wife spoke to them in Chinese just to double check (being Chinese herself), and told me that they said that they don 't provide rice with the vegetarian meal, but they do with the lunch specials. So we asked them if it 's possible just as a one off to give me a lunch special vegetarian meal (even if it was just half the dish plus half rice), but they refused. They wanted us to pay more and get a separate rice. My 75 y/o mother got a bit pissed off at this point, because she was told just the day before that it would all be okay admittedly, she was told by two different workers. So she went up to have a talk with them. She asked if she could speak to the manager another request they refused. She asked if they could go speak to the chef again, they refused. The staff even said that next week, maybe they can talk to the chef who will put a vegetarian item on the lunch specials menu but I 'm pretty sure they were just saying that to try to shut her up. This went on for about five minutes at which point my wife went up to try to diffuse the situation. After a brief conversation in Chinese, our food came out. One of the workers stormed out of the restaurant, obviously upset with us that we had made such an *unreasonable* request. My mother was so upset that they were refusing to help us, that she started crying maybe more because she had arranged this nice birthday meal for me and it turned out to be a bit of a disaster. Of course, we chose not to eat in and went to the park instead. The food was okay, but their customer service needs a whole lot of improvement. I know the girls were probably only underpaid students who have no say in such matters, but then it 's the duty of the owner to make sure that they can at least have the power to contact the manager, or owner when such requests occur. I 'm guessing there was no manager, at least, not one on site. If you just want a cheap meaty takeaway, then yes, go to Lotus Court. If you 're a vegetarian and want to dine in, well, prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience.
We have always had chinese from here, but our order 1/3/2016 was a disappointment! Ordered Family Pack B delivered like many times before, 6 spring rolls, sweet sour pork(instead of beef cashews),honey king prawns, lemon chicken, large fried rice. Only 2 meals that looked freshly cooked... hot were the, Honey King Prawns Spring Rolls. Sweet Sour Pork was dry bits of pork, dribble of sauce in bottom of dish,no pineapple vege looked like reheated pork, Lemon Chicken just Chicken with a dribble of sauce in bottom of dish, Large Fried Rice mainly just rice. Not enjoyable or worth $50
