I often overlook Nudge cafe because it is conveniently located in Oxford Village Square near Aldi, Vintage Cellars, and a discount pharmacy. Despite passing by regularly, I have never actually stopped in. It appears to be a popular spot for a quick and casual meal, rather than a place for a lengthy dining experience.
This charming breakfast spot in Surry Hills offers a simple but consistently high-quality menu at great prices. The friendly staff make you feel welcome and even remember regular customers.
I love the coffee at this place! They always get my xtra strong almond mocha just right, unlike other cafes where it's usually too weak to taste the chocolate. The service is excellent too – they always remember us and our usual order, which is a nice personal touch. The food is tasty and the menu is solid, with options similar to other places in the area. I usually go for poached or scrambled eggs on Turkish with avocado, which I've tried at many Surry Hills breakfast spots. Nudge consistently nails it, which is impressive. And best of all, the prices here are much more affordable than other places in the area – we can get 2 meals and coffees for under $40.
