Worst service we have ever had anywhere in the world. We ordered lunch & some drinks, asked if it was alright to eat outside in the fenced area keeping the kangaroos out. Unfortunately we were not warned about the maniac magpies & kookaburras that obviously harass patrons on a regular basis. After fending off the first attach it was only seconds before the second bird landed on my plate his wings hitting me in the face.As I tried to fend him off I knocked my drink over, my wife commented take it back they will give you another one. Fat chance, I was told in no certain terms, that's what you should expect in a wilderness environment, we can't control wild animals, and just for good measure our minimum purchase is ten dollars. Brilliant - beautiful place spoilt by exceptionally poor service - unbelievable service!!!!!
Not sure why some of the reviews are so bad but we had a very good experience at the tavern. Food is very decent well priced menu and the surroundings are fantastic. I know of well known pubs in perth that can barely beat that. Very good and very friendly!!! I would recommend more tourists to get their first experience with Australia there rather that some well known tourist attractions.
Had lunch after a long hike, lots of cider options, the staff and chef are coeliac aware which is brilliant, they also have gf bread (carbs are a big must after the eagle view). Great to see the roos and birds out the back. Quaint Tavern, food came out promptly and it's in a great spot
We arrived 1.30 on a Sunday. It took close to an hour to get the food to our table, 4 main meals. The food was good overall. The pub itself is like "back to the 70's" which is fine if you like it. The staff were nice. But we had to ask for serviettes and, disturbingly, a couple of patrons were openly smoking in the outdoor dining area, we breathed it in. The closeup view of the kangaroos was nice and the setting was pretty. Oh, and it's within the John Forrest National Park so as a family at least be prepared to part with $12 just to get to the pub.
