Mcdonald's - Darlington

We visited this branch during half term, with friends and their children, travelling back from a break. It was extremely busy. The car park was full, drive thru was tailed back and the restaurant was heaving. Service took ages due to the volume of customers and we waited so long that I thought they’d mislaid our order. Our friends waited even longer for theirs. Today I got a notification of a parking fine as we apparently were there for over 2 hours. Considering how busy the car park was and the number of cars, none of us noticed any signs-how silly of us to keep our eyes on the traffic rather than looking for signage!! We were legitimate customers and between us bought 7 meals. And waited a long time for them. Definitely don’t recommend unless you’re happy to throw the food down your throat or happy to get a parking fine. Sheer robbery and deception.

We arrived just after 9pm to find the restaurant looking closed, with chairs placed on top of tables. A staff member informed us that they were just cleaning. We placed our order on a digital board to be picked up at the counter and waited for a long time. The restaurant was extremely busy, and it seemed like they were prioritizing drive-thru and delivery orders over those of us waiting inside. After about 15-20 minutes, I had to inquire about my order just as my number was called. It took another 5 minutes for our food to be prepared and brought to us by a manager who appeared unkempt. The shakes we ordered were already melted by the time we received them. The fries were decent, but the burgers were dry, indicating they had been sitting for a while. Overall, our experience was disappointing, and we will not be returning to this branch.

I might regret giving this 4 stars but I feel like this mistake needs to be brought up. They gave me a banana milkshake instead of a vanilla one and it happens loads. The person admitted she did it by accident and she was very apologetic. It's an easily done mistake but it did take some of our time.up even though the drive thru was quick. Shame because the fries were one the best at macdonalds.

4 minutes agoNEW If I could give this a 100 I would, I went over 10 mins on the car park and was charged 100 pound(that's £10 a minute) for overstaying. I hadn't seen the signs and when I wrote to macdonlds twice (even head office) they were not interested at all. So much for looking after regular customers. I won't ever buy anything at macdonlds for my family again since you obviously do not care about your customers. Beware at of these ridiculous parking charges they Will still charge you!
