Lovely place, always busy but food is good and it is local to us so we visit frequently. Nice interior and in summer it’s absolutely lovely with the lake as a view
Dreadful! Booked previously for Sunday at 18.30 for family birthday celebrations. Only meals available were fish and chips and burgers! So why didn't you let us know? A phonecall would have been good. I made do with soup! Shepherd Neame you should be ashamed of yourselves and so should the wharf manager. None of us will ever be back. You've lost some good customers.
We made a reservation for a table at the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for a party of 10. We were required to pre-order our meals, but upon arrival, we discovered that some of the items on the menu had changed and were no longer available. It would have been appreciated if the staff had informed us before we placed our orders. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting an hour for our food, which was frustrating considering we had pre-ordered. The sausage from the kids' menu was extremely tough to cut and could have used a chisel instead of a regular knife and fork. Additionally, everything tasted heavily of pepper, which I dislike, so I struggled to eat my meal. The selection of vegetables for the Sunday roast was lacking, and including broccoli and carrots next time would be a nice touch. Overall, we found the dining experience to be subpar and believe there are better and more affordable options such as the charming pubs on Greenhithe High Street or even the nearby Burger King.
The wharf is a lovely pub with great views over looking the water, it is clean and well furnished. Myself and my friend booked a table for dinner on a Saturday evening, the pub was very quiet. We were asked to wait whilst our table was prepared and then shown to a table which was directly opposite the kitchen. We were informed that thy had had a problem with their delivery during the day meaning they only had 4 items from the main menu and a choice of burgers. This was somewhat disappointing but actually the food that we had was very well cooked and enjoyable so not too much of an issue. What we found most disappointing was the service, given it was very quiet the waitresses weren’t really available and were very slow to serve, bring our drinks and we had to flag someone down to ask for the bill. The staff were pleasant when they were available, just could do with being a bit more present I dread to think how they cope if the restaurant was full!
