Finbar's Portland Hills - Dartmouth

The service at this restaurant was excellent. I tried the buffalo cauliflower bites and found the portion size and flavor to be great. However, the texture of the cauliflower was unusual as it resembled raw chicken, which was a bit off-putting. Unlike other cauliflower bites I have tried, the cauliflower was not cooked or crunchy. Despite this, I still enjoyed the taste, but after realizing it felt like raw chicken in my mouth, it changed my perception. Chef, perhaps consider ways to make a crunchy buffalo cauliflower dish in the future. See the attached photo for reference.

I visited Finbars a few weeks ago and as always, I was impressed by their excellent service. It was my mother's birthday and we were a group of 7, so we had the pleasure of using the private room. The space was lovely, but we did experience some continuous banging noises, possibly from renovations happening in the kitchen. Other than that, the food was delicious! I particularly enjoyed the veggie tacos.

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with live music. It is an Irish bar that offers authentic Irish ales such as Kilkenny, along with delicious food. Although the service was a bit slow, the food was tasty.

What can I say about this place without sounding like this is a paid announcement ha ha! I enjoyed everything about Finbar's! My server was super funny and very well versed on the foods I could eat. I'm vegan (doctor's orders), and I was trying to navigate what I could eat and still feel like I was at a pub eating all the good foods! I had the most amazing Buffalo Bites made with oyster mushrooms, and I honestly couldn't get enough. I had some amazing salad and also some sweet potato fries, and needless to say, I was not dissaoijted in my choices. I was full. I was happy and I loved the atmosphere. I went with a friend who is always cranky about what they ate eating and they were thrown back by he steak sandwich they devoured. The tea was hot, the service was great, and the price range was totally doable. I would definitely recommend this pub for a good night out where you feel like your family. Try this pub out. You won't be leaving hungry or disappointed.

A very nice pub atmosphere with excellent diligent service and a great menu. They are very attentive to the needs of individuals with special dietary concerns and are very accommodating. I do wish they would bring back the lamb burger that they used to serve. It was the best in metro.
