The Canteen - Dartmouth

I made a reservation for May 12th for myself and 7 friends to celebrate 3 birthdays. Our evening was delightful! The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent. We enjoyed dishes like brussel sprouts (amazing, even for non-brussel sprout fans), crab dip (not my favorite due to a herb I don't usually like, but still delicious), and scallops, which received rave reviews. I opted for the fettucine with mushrooms and was once again impressed. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

I visited The Canteen for the first time tonight, and I have to say, Bravo. It brought back the simple joy of savoring freshly prepared food that was full of love and flavor in every dish I tried. I believe I have found my new favorite restaurant.

I have been to The Canteen multiple times and will continue to go back. The staff is consistently fantastic and accommodating, especially when we were a group of 8. As a seafood enthusiast, I always try the seafood wherever I go, and The Canteen's seafood is the best I have ever had. 6 out of 8 in our group also ordered the seafood and would gladly order it again. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already!

After drooling over photos of The Canteen's offerings for months, we finally got our act together to get to The Canteen for dinner last night. Me grilled radicchio and salad Nicoise; him seafood chowder (he says best he's ever eaten) and salad Nicoise. Maybe we should have mixed up the mains but we couldn't resist the tuna. And it was delicious!! The flavours were amazing ! And our server Liz was a gem! Haven't had the crobster yet but looking at it when served at the neighbouring table, I was strongly tempted to nip it from the guy when he turned his head . Next time!

Great food, great staff, reasonable prices. We were a party of 10 and although the place was packed, we quickly got our table and the service was friendly, professional and fast. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Keep up the great work. We will be back and will bring friends.Thanks!!
