Excellent restaurant in an optimum location--right in the heart of downtown Darwin's civic center.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, the waitress asked if we would like tap water or sparkling water. I chose sparkling, to find that we were to be charged $9 for a 700ml bottle! The food was really flavourful and good, until I bit into a large wad of some sort of herb or spice. It was really bitter and very fibrous and black in colour. Not anything I have experienced before and I have dined on Indian many times. In comparison to other restaurants in Darwin, it was relatively expensive. $97 for 2 people for one course (including $9 water).
I recently visited Darwin on my holiday and had amazing dinner at this restaurant. They have variety of north indian food. We ordered tandoori mix grill, kadahi paneer, handi goat, chicken biryani and cheese garlic naan. The food was full of flavour and authentic just like we get in India. I was surprised to see that place like Darwin has one of the most authentic Indian restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and would love to coma back if lived in Darwin. Highly recommend!!
I ate a nice meal here one night and had a good serve of basmati rice and a vegetable vindaloo. The dish was certainly firey and arrived piping hot. It actually tasted even better when I'd nearly finished as I think currys taste better at room temp. The down side was the service, being very slow and I required a gluten free meal and when I queried its 'safety' received a curt affermative.
