The atmosphere the restaurant tried to create failed miserably because it was so dark I could barely see my food. The food was okay but my steak was a bit too charred on the outside. There was a party taking so many pictures of the room and other tables there that all we could see for about 40 minutes was camera flashes going off. The wait staff did nothing to intervene. The food was expensive but not worthwhile. As for the Forge's prized privacy factor the way the cameras were going off that night I don't think so! I will never go again. I may recommend to someone I want to give indigestion to and well put a dent in their savings!
Our experience at this allegedly amazing restaurant was as bad as it gets. The staff at this restaurant is incompetent and useless. It took them close to an hour to bring water, even more time to bring beverages, and then, when we ordered a bottle of champagne, we were asked six times by three different people which brand it was, even though we gave them the name and the number on the wine list. The waiters forgot to place the lobster orders with the kitchen, so when all the entrees were brought out, there were no lobsters. When, about 30 minutes later the lobsters were brought out, they were undercooked. A few side orders were also forgotten. When people who got their entrees wanted to lift the cover, they were yelled at (imagine the nerve) by the waiter to keep the food covered until the waiters were ready to present it. That's the entrees that were on the average $50 per plate. The incompetence of the staff was unbelievable. Missing silverware, glasses, plates, wine glasses not removed from the table when no one was drinking wine. The floors are shaky and uneven. Since the restaurant is dark, it is not very easy to get around without tripping or losing balance, especially for a woman on high heels. When one of the customers spilled wine on the floor (because it is not easy to walk around with a drink in your hand), no one was in a hurry to clean it up. The food is decent, but definitely not worth the money.
If you are in Miami you have to at least try the Forge once in your lifetime. Steaks like you have never had before. Seafood, deserts, and especially the wine are some of the best as well. It is a dinner that will surely entertain your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or clients. What can I say? I love the Forge.
Incredible steak. Forge lives up to the rep of the great steak I have heard about. Oh, and the selection for wine is ridiculous. You can get almost anything! Servers are knowledgeable enough that you can get wine and food suggestions. Elegant and different atmosphere.
Such a great restaurant. I was here a few weeks ago with friends and we are still talking about it. In fact, I loved it so much that I went again this past weekend. I have tried their famous steak and the tuna for the main dish. Both are great, probably just depends on what you are in the mood for. Wine selection makes the experience alone. Place is decorated hip and comfortable.
