Zum Tschuggen - Davos

We found this as we navigated the Fluella pass en route back to Calais from Lake Como what an absolute gem of a place! We did not stay at the hotel just used the restaurant. Car park is big enough to access with a large motorhome. Have your camera handy as the views from the car park and the outside bar area are outstanding. There is no mobile signal, so you need to be able to understand German, or willing to take a risk… We liked the look of the penne dishes a neighbouring table were tucking into, so took a chance, and they did not disappoint – huge portions, loads of flavour and just what you needed after a very cold walk from the car park – one is tomato based, the other has loads of cheese, onion and bacon mixed in with the pasta before being grilled. A cosy location and the service is excellent, though not all the staff speak English, but with hand gestures and patience, we worked everything out. Owner did laugh at us when we paid – commented that they had snowfall and were wearing jumpers yet we were in shorts and sandals.

Drove up here for a nice lunch. If I could give 0 stars I would since the service was horrible/rude and we had to pay 1 franc for the toilet! Embarrassing...

Wir hatten Hunger und es war bereits ca. 15.00 Uhr als wir beim Tschuggen anhielten. Kein Problem , wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient, alles perfekt. Ich merkte schnell dass dies nicht ein gewöhnliches Restaurant ist, es war einfach alles gut. Bestellten die Spezialitäten des Hauses Kaninchen , Risotto, Fitnessteller Na das war doch eine tolle Überraschung, ein Bravo an den Koch. Zum Dessert gab es noch einen warmen Apfelstrudel. Der Sohn hatte noch den Teller abgeschleckt Ambiente: angenehm Preis/ Leistung: eher teuer Zum weiterempfehlen: sehr gerne wieder

Tolle Wildkarte was aus der Küche kommt eine Freude für Auge und Gaumen.Hingegen der Service eine absolute Zumutung:Unfreundlich und inkompetent.

Waren wieder mal am Flüelapass und abends hungrig. Hirschfilet und Gamsentrecote bestellt. Vorab einen Jagdsalat. Alles hervorragend. Noch nie so feines Wild gegessen.
