Non-hotel guests are welcome to visit as well. My husband and I had a cocktail here and we are looking forward to trying more on our next visit. The cocktails were fantastic! I especially enjoyed the Blood Orange Mule made with moonshine, it was delicious. Highly recommend trying it.
The restaurant/bar area of this establishment has a lovely atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. We tried the nachos as an appetizer on our first night and they were surprisingly tasty, although the portion was quite large and lacking in salsa towards the bottom. We had to ask the front desk to call over a server as there was no one around to take our order. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly and attentive when they were present. Breakfast the next morning at the buffet was good, with typical hotel buffet options such as oatmeal, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruits, and pastries. The muffins were particularly delicious. The buffet is reasonably priced at $20, with elite members receiving a $14 credit when staying at the hotel, unlike most other Marriott hotels where breakfast is fully included.
Terrible service with inexperienced bartenders. When my party of three arrived at 4:30, we were told there was only one menu left. The bartender poured me a drink while we waited for the other person to arrive, but the orange juice was expired so I switched to beer. The bartender proceeded to waste half a keg before I had to instruct him on how to bleed the keg properly. He continued to waste beer for 45 minutes. We ordered some chips and a pretzel, which were okay, but then they suddenly started vacuuming the bar area, leaving us to listen to the noise for 30 minutes. When I asked for a drink with ginger ale, I was told the ginger ale was bad. There were 3-4 people behind the bar, all with about a week's worth of experience. Despite looking forward to visiting this restaurant as a local, I will not be returning and do not recommend this place. I have tried all the restaurants in Daytona and this one is the worst.
Blue Flame is a bar, not a restaurant. We have been there several times as hotel guests and watched as the service has continuously declined since our first visit. This time we sat for close to twenty minutes in the comfy seating area, in plainview of the five bar-staff, being steadfastly ignored whilst the (highly salaried? service personnel chatted mostly amongstthemselves and with the three customers seated at the bar. Eventually we were offered menus and subsequently ignored again forabout a quarter of an hour whilst the bar-staff entertained themselves with the pit-bull convention developing between the barand the Sir Malcolm restaurant (more on that, later . At last we were graced with some quite pleasant service and thenover-charged as a final insult. Once the overage was rectified, we were informed how lucky we were to have received out-of-datepricing (clearly printed on the menu . Our original intent was cocktails followed by dinner but the adjacent Sir Malcolmrestaurant was a no-go because at least seven (one in particular of the lighting fixtures were blinking and flashing to thepoint where a seizure may well have been induced. The following morning, we hit the road without breakfast due to the sametorturous lighting conditions as the previous evening. My primary question is: how can a competent GM allow such behavior anddilapidation to occur in the first place? This is a beautiful hotel but something is very wrong with the management andorganization.
Pretty restaurant , but that?s it. I started with the generation next drink. Very small. Got a pretzel and that?s where it ended for us. The cheese was old. Server wasn?t rude but not friendly. We spent more time waiting for her to return then it took us todrink and eat our app. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else.
