Ihop - Daytona Beach

The food was excellent, and the service was good initially. However, things took a turn when we handed the waitress our gift card. First, she claimed that the card had broken the machine, and we ended up waiting for 15 minutes. Then she said everything was fine, so we left her a tip, asked her to keep the remaining balance on the card, and walked out. Suddenly, she ran after us, saying that the card didn't work. I asked her for the card so I could call the customer service number, but she said she wouldn't give it to me. Since we were on our bikes, my husband had to ride back to the motel to get a Visa card. The waitress insisted that I stay there. We ended up paying the bill with a Visa, but she still refused to return our IHOP gift card, which had $25 on it. We had just received it for Grandparents Day and hadn't even used it.

I had some amazing cookies and gravy this morning. The service was excellent, and Rica was incredibly friendly! It was a much better experience than the Cracked Egg down the road!

I waited around 30 minutes for a table, and then it took an additional 20 minutes just to place a drink order. Once I ordered my food, it took another 20 minutes for that to arrive, and I received my drinks right when the food came out. Our server seemed to be missing in action for quite a while and finally returned to say she was busy. I understand that things can get hectic, but is it common to have to wait for drinks until the food arrives?

From which reason was the place among staffed. 1 server for all these tables. the eating was good and I don't owe the server, but it's not a good eating when they have to wait while the only person on the floor has to answer the phone, order cash people out and serve seat customers. I give her good that she did her best, but the business as a whole, so to work, is simply not favorable to affect the mozens to return.
