We were hungry and in need of gas when we stumbled upon a charming restaurant filled with friendly people. Despite our initial concern about gas, we enjoyed a delicious meal and had a wonderful time. The bar counter was stocked with homemade cake that looked too good to resist. I ended up trying the toasted coconut cake, and it was absolutely delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a great dining experience during our journey.
I have to say that this place could use a fresh coat of paint, a roof repair, and a new deck. However, despite these cosmetic issues, this restaurant has some of the best food and friendliest staff you can find in these hidden gem locations off the beaten path. We visited on Saturday, May 20th and were impressed by the size and taste of the hamburger steak - it was the largest one I've ever seen and absolutely delicious. The gravy was a bit salty, but the potatoes and fries were excellent. Our son really enjoyed the hamburger as well, commenting on its generous size. The quesadillas were also very tasty and the tea was refreshing. The only issue was the bathroom door, which needs to be fixed so it can be locked. Overall, we would definitely stop by again, perhaps on a Friday to try the shrimp.
I must say that this place could use some painting, roof repair, and a new ceiling would be helpful. However, some of the best food and friendliest staff can be found in these small, rundown-looking places off the beaten path, and this restaurant is no exception. We visited on Saturday, May 20th. The hamburger steak was the biggest I have ever seen and was delicious. The gravy was a bit salty, but the mashed potatoes and fries were great. The hamburger was also tasty, and the quesadillas were very good. The tea was just fine. It would be nice to see the bathroom door fixed so it can be locked. If I liked seafood, I would definitely make the drive down on a Friday night to try it out. This is a hidden gem that many people overlook due to its appearance, but they are missing out on some fantastic food, especially on a Friday night. We will definitely stop in again, maybe on a Friday, to try the shrimp.
We absolutely loved it! We had been driving since 2am looking for breakfast and we found the best place. This restaurant definitely surpasses any chain restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the people in the restaurant were wonderful. We didn't want to leave, the waitress was entertaining and there was never a dull moment or an empty cup of coffee. We will definitely be returning!
During a road trip back East with my mom, we stumbled upon a hidden gem while looking for gas. Despite not getting gas there, we had a great meal and met some friendly people. The bar counter was filled with homemade cakes, all of which looked amazing. I ended up trying the Toasted Coconut Cake and it was delicious. I couldn't stop talking about it and even found out the exact location of the place. Can't wait to go back for more!
