Absolutely the best Italian bakery! It's the genuine article and simply amazing. I can't fathom how other cities manage without a spot like this. The thought of not having access to fresh bread, cookies, and pizza rolls is hard to imagine. I truly love this place; every visit fills me with joy.
Pastizzi's Maltese pastries are delicious! They are quite tasty and come frozen, with options for either meat or ricotta cheese filling. Priced at $12 for a dozen, I find that cooking them at a lower temperature for a bit longer than the recommended time yields perfectly browned pastries.
The Best Brushetta in the D. This is a great place run by very nice people. They have really good Italian bread, pizza, pepperoni rolls, and all kinds of home made cookies and pastries. The service is great and very friendly. You have got to try their cannolis and their amaretti cookies.
This place is at least a 25-35 minute drive from my house and there may a hundred bakeries between here and there, but this is the only one with Authentic Maltese Pastizzi and they are worth the trip. This is the first time I've ever tried the bread, and it reminded me of growing up in Astoria, Queens NY... every one of my friends could not stop gushing about it. Also tried the cannoli for the first time and it was spot on as well. I'm an absolute fan, these guys have something special here
