Looking forward to sitting by the waterfall once it is a bit warmer. May not be an urbanites favorite- but I loved it.
Driven past this place for years on my way to Dallas and always said I will stop one day and finally did. Food and service was good I had a 2 meat plate with pulled pork and sliced brisket was nice and moist only thing was bbq sauce wasn't the most flavorful but everything else was good.
Fantastic barbeque with a very laid back but still aesthetic vibe. Don't pass on this one, its a sleeper!
Stopped by here to try the brisket. There were several cars (well, mostly trucks actually) out front and they had some live music going on. Except it wasn 't called Leeper Creek but rather Ritzy B 's. Not to be deterred by a simple name change we walked up to the door and sadly saw the sign that said out of brisket. Well, were were already here so brisket sadness aside we went in anyway. It is cafeteria style service where you first order your meat choices, watch the guy running toast through a cool machine, grab your sides and drinks, and pay at the end of the line. The guys doing the meat were friendly if a bit rushed. Sides here were all good (corn, cole slaw, banana pudding) save the beans which were just so so. The iced tea was great. The meat was a bit hit or miss. We tried ham which was pretty dry and close to cold, hot link which was a bit better but also close to cold, and some lukewarm ribs which had a heavy, gritty rub on them. Ribs were decent and a bit better with the sauce. Texas toast was ok, probably could have been cooked just a bit longer for my preference. We didn 't sit out where the music was but it looked nice and many people were enjoying the act. Everyone working there seemed friendly and helpful. I think with better meat this place would have been quite good but it wasn 't all that great. Decent value but nothing to write home about. Looks like a nice place to drink beer post bbq and listen to music but that wasn 't on the dinner agenda for us this day.
The brisket is perfect! Sausage was awesome!! Coleslaw Texas toast yummy! Ate every bite of the pulled pork!! We will definitely be stopping here again!! Outdoor dining waterfall backdrop a bonus!!
