My scallop dish was beyond disappointing. Paying $36.00 for four scallops is beyond belief. There was latterly nothing else of substance on the plate. I’m sorry that what formerly was a wonderful place to have dinner has sunk so low.

We have had mixed experiences at the Whale's Rib tavern, some very good but last night was disappointing. My wife had a cod dish and I had Wagyu steak. The cod was lukewarm and the accompanying potatoes were undercooked. My steak, which I ordered medium, was barely rare. On the plus side the sauces were quite good, and the server quite personable. Perhaps it had something to do with being at the end of the season, but these mistakes are characteristic of a kitchen that does not have its act together. Again, we have had good food in the past at the Inn, but this meal was not up to standards.
