4bs Cafe - Deer Lodge

So, the waitress won me over immediately when she asked if i wanted half&half, creamer, or French vanilla for my coffee. The last two gag me and everyone seems to think that all coffee drinkers want that **** and I usually have to ask for the real stuff. So I asked the waitress what was the must-have dish, and she said the cream of tomato soup. I trusted her because, you know. The coffee thing. $1.15 coffee $7.50 for delicious cream of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. Reasonable prices, good food, attentive staff. Glad I stopped. Cool view of the old prison out the window, too.

This restaurant was such a disappointment. The price of the food was ridiculous for the quality. The facility was absolutely disgusting. I'm originally from California and could expect this kind of business however in the heart of Montana.... let's clean it up 4Bs and take pride in presentation....

We stopped in here while visiting Deer Lodge because it was a Monday and nothing else was open. Quite a few local patrons eating lunch and since we were too late for breakfast, we decided on an early lunch. I ordered a grilled cheese in sourdough my hubby had a tuna melt. I also tried their so-called world famous tomato soup. Both of our sandwiches were good the soup was too. It was milk based and had nice chunks of tomato. The french fries my partner had were fresh cut and fried- delicious! I ordered carrot cake but it was dry and didn't have the usual cream cheese frosting. All in all, a decent home town eatery.

Simple version of the Waffle House, truck stop and food to order. Accommodating staff, good coffee and breakfast. Near fuel and convenience store. Down and casual atmosphere. No three piece suit or tie required. Mindfulness as to what additional additive would be beneficial to this business. No fruits offered with oat meal although available.

I stumbled upon this place again, and I must say, both the staff and the food have really improved. It has a clean, somewhat dated vibe that feels casual and inviting. The staff are friendly, and the prices for steak dinners are quite reasonable. I highly recommend the fantastic cream pie, tomato soup, and grilled cheese. The salad served in a toasted bread bowl is superb as well. Thank you for a lovely dining experience!
