Kitchen 1540 - DEL MAR

We were the only ones there, so I told myself my date that I bought the restaurant for our date!

Excellent salad and bread. Steak entree was over cooked. Seafood pasta wasn’t hot. Service was very good and Mgmt offered us a free dessert.

Excellent service and wonderful food. Had a very nice experience overall and would definitely recommend it.

We were quite disappointed with this restaurant. As you may have seen in my previous reviews, I usually don’t speak out much, but this experience was unacceptable. The place felt like a cramped box with no signage to indicate it was a restaurant. They didn't have any bar offerings that we could find. When we ordered a martini for dinner, we were informed that there were no clean martini glasses, so they served it to us in a highball glass instead. I would have chosen vodka on the rocks had I known. Additionally, the noise from a nearby kids' camp was overwhelming, with children running around everywhere.

When we sat outside in a cabana, it was enjoyable, but since we were the only ones out there, we felt overlooked. The service was quite slow. During our last visit for dinner, we had a great experience, but this time it was only decent. The prices are still high, but it didn’t feel worth it. That’s all I have to say.
