I am so grateful that I stumbled upon the Deer Head Inn when looking for lodging in the Delaware Water Gap area for an autumn hiking weekend. This gorgeous, historic, well-kept, well appointed inn give us a comfortable, clean, unique place to stay andso much more. We enjoyed a night in the restaurant with live jazz music and delicious food. We were provided with a modest butcompletely satisfying breakfast each morning, which was unexpected and greatly appreciate. This was a great way to start the daybefore walking a few steps from the inn up the road and onto the Appalachian trail where we trekked a 10 mile loop (much shorterloops available! . One afternoon, we enjoyed the sweet little concrete pillar steps in the trail across the river. The small, historic village has a few wonderfully charming shops, and around the corner are other incredible restaurants- Bosco BBQ wasfantastic. All in all, I will be highly recommending this experience to friends and family, and I am already looking forward toreturning for another hiking/foodie/live music getaway myself.
I ordered the spinach stuffed shells and a salad. The salad was a nice size and received in a timely manner. However, when I received my entree, it was a bowl full of sauce. I couldn't even find my shells because I didn't receive shells. They gave me 2manicotti that I had to fork through the sauce to find. Very disappointing. At least the music was good
Place is new and well run. Staff pleasant, service good. A great place if you like boring food a d the biggest choice you want to make is whether you want three or six chicken strips.
Amazing spot! If you are into jazz, you will love this place. We went there on a Thursday, it?s their jam session night, and musicians were very talented and passionate. I can attest to the quality as I have been to many jazz clubs in NYC and Paris ifyou know Smalls Jazz Club in Manhattan, it?s a similar experience. HIGHLY recommended. Food is pretty good too.
