Did try rista, rogan josh, mutton kebabs, n gustaba..the meat was finely minced n tasted great.. I went to try tabakh maaz but unfortunately they don't have that always on their menu.. The menu is limited with nothing strictly vegetarian.. In all, this is a great place to taste kashmiri cuisine.
Amazing food. My favourite dish there is Rista and roasted chicken. It's not a fancy dine though. I have never eaten such delicious Kashmiri food anywhere.
Undoubtedly Authentic Kashmiri wazwaan !<br/ Menu is short but includes the main dishes .<br/ Price is at par with other restaurants across DEL/NCR Kashmiri restaurants.<br/ <br/ You can get Harissa on order ! <br/ <br/ Hygiene part needs to be taken care !<br/ <br/ <br/ Had a great time over all ! <br/
Hard place to find. Frugal place. Dont expect too much in looks.. but they say.. the lotus grows out of mud and dirt. Mutton sheekh kebabs.. yeah you heard it. Try it! If you are not done with that..try the juicy rishta and goshtaba. Perfect preparation, better than most other wazwans in n around Delhi. But my personal favorite comes next- tabaqmaaz. The slow cooked ribs- cooked to accurate tenderness in ghee. I remember gobbling down 7 of them as my friends watched in disbelief. If you are more into main course.. the rogan josh with steamed rice would do just great for you. Don't turn back looking at the surrounding.. give a try!!
In one of my recent reviews, I wrote about the diverse and delightful regional cuisine of India. Among these, I rate Kashmiri cuisine in the top five. Kashmiri cuisine has evolved from the cuisines of Central Asia, Persia and the North India plains. When it comes to mutton dishes, Kashmiri cuisine is indeed my favourite. The use of Kashmiri chillies, saffron, dry ginger, asafoetida, saunf and other aromatic spices make Kashmiri dishes mildly spicy, but rich in flavours. I also like the light gravy which is a great combination with their staple grain, rice.<br/ <br/ There are over half a dozen of restaurants which serve Kashmiri food in Delhi NCR. Gulfam Kashmiri Wazwan in Nizamuddin may be one of the humblest one which serve a limited disges, but of consistent quality. I have visited this joint several times in the past. After, almost a decade I again got a chance to pack few dishes from here. I packed half a portion of Rista and Rogan Josh and couple of Roomali Rotis (not Kashmiri) from here and headed home.<br/ <br/ I found both the dishes flavourful as I had taste years back. This is clean food and light on the pocket. Most of the dishes are nonvegetarian – Rista, Rogan Josh, Kebab, Gostaba and Tabak Maas and the vegetarian will be left with little choices. I wish they had vegetarian dishes likes Dum Aloo,Nadroo Yakhni and Paneer Chaman, which are equally popular as their nonvegetarian counterparts and would given us a balanced menu to choose from.<br/ <br/ Try this joint, if you are visiting Nizamuddin!
