Parmi, surf n turf and a kids meal all good! Service was lovely friendly faces and that little extra effort eg bringing our child a puzzle to do. Live country band kept us entertained and stayed longer because they were there. Recommend this good pub!
Went to the Empire Hotel in the afternoon for some coffee, we were warmly greated and kept nice and toastie by the wood fire! Had a lovely chai and my boyfriend had a coffee that he enjoyed. It was a lovely place and would definetly love to go back!
Plenty of choice on the menu. We had lunch and because it was so good, booked and returned for an evening meal. Very tasty food at good prices. Generous servings and could hardly fit dessert in but managed to. Good choice of wines and beer on the menu. Open fireplace for chilly evenings. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Not standard 'pub' food - more modern and up-to-date menu to suit tourists and locals alike.
When we arrived in town, we asked a number of locals where to eat for dinner, and all of them said Empire Hotel. The couple who run it are very friendly and seem to enjoy hosting everyone whether it be accommodation, drinks or food. I ate the Salmon and Prawn Pappardelle and hubby had the pork and both dishes were fantastic. We ate early after being on the road and they have a quaint little area by the fire which was nice and cosy.
