Caffe Luna Rosa - Delray Beach

There were 8 plus a toddler, so the brunch dishes varied. I had a special which was half a Belgian waffle, one pancake, one challah French toast with 2 sauces drizzled over it. In addition, fresh blueberries and strawberries were delicious. Some people had omelettes, eggs, and other dishes. Everyone enjoyed what they had. We did have to wait 50 minutes for a table for eight. Most tables were 2 and 4 top. Had a bar. Parking was street.

We’ve eaten here repeatedly over the years. It’s always reliable and the food never disappoints. I brought a customer there yesterday for lunch and “Luna” has another customer as a result. Whether seafood or meat, pasta or salads, the kitchen knows their clientele.

The food was SO delicious. It tasted so fresh and the flavors were great! The only odd thing was that our server/waitress treated us like children. We do look a bit like teenagers, and the service did suffer because of this unfortunately. Drink refills didn’t really happen in a timely manner, nobody came to check on us, etc. The most uncomfortable part (and the part that solidified my theory that they thought we were teens) was the server watching from behind as we were writing the tip. I think she was trying to be sneaky about it, but it was SO awkward and we felt rushed. Of course we tipped well, as we work in service industry and understand the hustle, but it was super unfortunate. Don’t judge people based on looks!

Windy Day at the Beach. Best place to be to watch the stormy weather. French toast and sausage as good as The Breakers.

We used to be regular customers but with lost quality came less frequency to the location. We now reserve to special occasions but this one missed the mark. The server not sure his name cared more about his affections towards the dark haired server than having any personality at our table. My potato pancakes were so hard I couldn’t cut through them and was remarkably disappointed. The hash was over salted but that’s not how I remember it from the past. Server gave a snarky response to our champagne choice. Overall we may find a new spot for special occasions.
