La Bahia De Cadiz - Denia

Stopped for lunch while walking around beautiful Denia. This is set in a large courtyard away from the port. We enjoyed the meal: fresh large house salad with a tasty dressing; fresh mussels in a garlic/white wine sauce served with fresh bread (and a homemade Ali-Oli dip); very good fresh grilled sardines and a local pleasant wine. The staff were friendly and the premises small but clean inside. Good spot for lunch.

Food was ok but a little too salty. Service was fast. Paella was too salty and not much taste. Fried food was too oily with no taste.

I was quite surprised by the reviews for this restaurant after our visit yesterday. The food and service was truly excellent. Usually full of Spaniards (always a good sign) and in a great location. Fresh seafood, healthy portions and good value, however, if you’re looking for somewhere more polished, this isn’t your place. That being said, if you want authentic, well cooked seafood I highly, highly recommend this place.
