Botellón - Denver

We had reservations and came 30 minutes early, but they let us sit. Very appreciated! The service was attentive without being overlaid. We were somewhat disappointed in the limited menu items. Typically tapas bars/restaurants offer many options for sampling from different categories of appetizers, vegan, meat and seafood. Botellon offers all these, but again limited, and three offers have already been sold, the limited decisions even more. Food sizes were also on the small side, even considering that they are tapas sizes. We ordered Hangar Steak for $16 and got 4 small pieces of steak. I would understand whether the accompanying sauce or ornaments made for it, but I cannot even remember it. Appetizer with Proscuitto was good with good portions of delicious Proscuitto. It was probably the most generous part of all ordered articles. We also ordered the seafood Paella, which was very good. It was the largest part with lots of shells, but a skalopp and a small piece of fish for $24. Overall, it was decent, but a little disappointing in terms of food. The service was wonderful.

We enjoyed olives (the best we’ve ever had!), cauliflower, and cod, all of which were delicious! We considered ordering the paella, but it takes 30 minutes to prepare. The service was attentive, and there were plenty of drink options available. We didn't inquire about dessert since it wasn't on the menu and none was offered, but we were too full to eat any more anyway.

This trendy new restaurant on E. 17th Ave offers a delightful dining experience. I tried the octopus dish and the seafood paella, both of which were fantastic! The service was excellent as well. However, it would have been nice to have some light jazz playing in the background, as it was a bit difficult to hear conversations over the noise.

The food and service were excellent, making for a delightful experience. The staff provided outstanding service.

Great small tapas plates! Will be back, for the ambiance and food.
