Sogo Hibachi Grill - Denville

The hibachi food was delicious and the chef put on an entertaining show. The waiter could have been more prompt in refilling our drinks. The restaurant was quite warm, causing visible sweating and discomfort for us and other diners. The air conditioning should have been turned up higher.

I always have a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food is always fresh and tasty, and the hibachi experience is very enjoyable. The portions are generous, so you will likely have leftovers for another meal, which makes the prices worth it.

This restaurant is excellent! I mistakenly thought it was BYOB, but even without bringing my own drinks, it was still fantastic. I definitely need to come back for the drinks. The sushi was fresh and the service was great.

At this price point, everything should be better. The scallops were salty as were the noodles and fried rice. The beef was good. The shrimp were just okay. The service was just okay. The chef was talented but at $60 per person inclusive of gratuity you expect a server to check for drinks more than once during the seating. The birthday routine blasting from speakers to the tune of Turning Japanese along with a gong being struck takes what should be a fun special-occasion dinner staple into comic almost parody levels especially the 4th time around. The atmosphere may be better than other options, but everything else is average at best for an above average price.

Had a great evening with my Meetup Group here last Thursday. Hibachi Chefs here are really great and the Service was top-notch. Cocktails were quite good, and they used fresh ingredients for their fruit based drinks. We were a large group, and each of us ordered different types of Protein for the Hibachi, and everything tasted good. Seafood was a little overcooked, but they still tasted great, and it's bound to differ from Chef to Chef, so no big deal. Wish I had ordered some Sushi and other Menu items but the Hibachi order itself was more than filling, so stopped myself.
