Shabir Tandoori - Derby

I ordered the Tawa for 2 set meal. The tandoori meats were decent, but the nan and roti breads were missing. The Chicken curry was disappointing - it was more like a pool of grease with large chunks of bone and something resembling dog food. It was absolutely disgusting and unlike anything I had ever seen. The rice also looked unappetizing, with various bits of grease and sauce mixed in, as if it had been scooped up with a dirty spoon. I ended up having to throw out the curry and rice. Thankfully, I received a refund from Uber Eats.

A little restaurant in the now run down area of derby. When we parked up I thought I was in east Europe! Did not feel safe. Good service, broken English. Lamb chops curry was 8/10. Lamb seekh kebabs were super. Decor and seating is a little outdated. Over all 6.8/10 Wouldn’t visit again unless I was passing by.

I had a very delicious lamb spinach curry paired with sweet tea for dessert. There were many locals coming in and out, creating a welcoming atmosphere despite the occasional draft from the stubborn door. The restaurant is great value for the quality of food. Additionally, the menu at the restaurant offers more options than what is listed on the website.

The delicious and juicy kebab chicken was amazing! We also tried the curry, which was good but not as great as the kebab. The tea was excellent and the staff were friendly. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again. I would give it a perfect score of 10/10.
