The Grill - Derry

Not a great menu and not a great number of choices for a four star hotel with an exec chef. Could do better

My mother had booked a table for tomorrow for my Daughters birthday, been booked for weeks she was looking forward to it. They then yesterday phoned to say it was Santa Sunday and the price up from 28 to £40. No mention of this when booking but seemingly manager says everyone knows the end of November is Santa Sunday. He was too ring back but never even had the manners too, so we had to book a decent restaurant instead.

Stayed at the Everglades Hotel for 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast on 2 occasions. The breakfast choices were wide and varied using specific ingredients as per the 2016 National Food Focus. If you are staying at the hotel and intend to take breakfast at the hotel make sure that you book the night before as a discount applies if you do. Dinner was very high standard with range and standard of food exceptional. Staff standard commensurate with food served.

We rarely eat at a hotel where we're staying because we like to experience different places but we just loved the food offered at this grill so much the first night that we stayed at the Everglades, we returned the second evening for another fine meal. The menu is quite varied with something for everyone and much of the food offered is fresh local-sourced. *Bonus*! The terrific staff were friendly attentive and really added to our overall great experience...especially Carmen : No regrets at all for dining here two nights in a row.

Compliments to all the staff at the Grill in the Everglades Hotel, Derry. We had a beautiful meal prepared by the always superb Chef Colman. The beef was cooked to perfection! Our thanks also to Jennifer for her efficient, yet friendly service. Thank You!
