Pueblo Viejo - Des Moines

This restaurant was incredibly clean, the food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I believe we've found our new favorite spot for Mexican cuisine!

I also appreciated that Thursdays are 50% off regular margaritas! At just $3.00, it definitely made the drinks taste even better. While the chips were a bit thicker and tasted somewhat stale, the salsa was outstanding, adding a delightful touch to our meal. We would certainly recommend giving this place a try; everything we saw being served looked appealing. If you're there, don't miss out on the peach margarita—it was a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. The prices were very reasonable, and parking wasn't an issue. The service was attentive and quick without making us feel rushed.

During my visit to Des Moines, I decided to have lunch at this restaurant, and I'm so happy I did! The food was amazing, and the portion sizes were quite generous—I couldn't finish my meal and ended up taking the leftovers for dinner. The service was outstanding too; the staff was friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back in the future!

The chips and salsa were really tasty. We were seated quickly and received warm, friendly service. Our waiter was quite attentive and made sure to check on us often. I liked the chilled mug that came with my Coors Light. The chalupa was sizable and crispy, packed with delicious meat. Everything was served hot, and the Spanish rice was particularly good—soft and fresh. The chips were also fresh. I was impressed by the quick service; the food came out almost immediately!

The staff were friendly, and we were seated and served promptly, with our order being correct. However, the salsa was the worst I've ever tasted. My husband and I each took a bite simultaneously and exchanged a look of disgust! We requested hot salsa to see if it might be an improvement, but it turned out to be just another unpleasant option. The rest of the food was mediocre at best.
