Camping Desimi Beach

Camping Desimi is located in the south of the island of Lefkada, near the town of Nydri, in a beautiful, sheltered bay. Both the operators and the employees take great care of their guests, many of whom are regulars, some of whom have been coming to this place for decades. The family atmosphere, as well as the good food and the location speak for it. We came to this place for the first time on our Greece road trip and the originally planned 5 6 nights ended up being 12. Excursions by car around the entire island and to many highlights, such as Porto Katsiki or to Papanikolis Cave, the second largest cave in Greece on the island of Meganasi, which we reached with our kayak. It is possible to rent various boats (motors, kayaks, etc. directly on the beach. Overall, this camp invites you to stay for a longer period of time, but a short stay is also possible. We were there at the end of September beginning of October without prior reservation. The facility is getting a bit old, but is constantly kept clean and well maintained and makes a good impression. As with many Greek campsites, it is customary at Camp Desimi to bring your own toilet paper. The breakfast service works perfectly and the daily fresh bread can be picked up in the morning. At our time, the small shop was sufficiently stocked for small everyday things. Anyone who prefers to swim in the sea and can do without a pool will appreciate this place.

Super nice little place and fantastic surroundings and view in the small beautiful bay. We were there at the end of the season at the end of October and were almost the last to leave the square, so the restaurant was closed while we were there, but it was quiet and super cozy. The pitches for tents are somewhat shabby and without atmosphere. Beautiful view, no lighting whatsoever, no water point, steep rocky access road and you got to the toilet area via a steep unlit steel spiral staircase. No paper available. We left quickly... Everything is pretty old and improvised. But the operator is very committed and eager to help. Lots of seasonal campers. In the off-season you can also get a spot at the front of the sea. Pretty tight though. But the beautiful view makes up for a lot. In the evenings people like to celebrate loudly in the tavern. Then you have to go through

We returned here 6 years after our first visit in April 2017, when we’d been almost alone on the site, and were not disappointed. Yes, there are many vans in a small space, but the site remains peaceful and is exceptionally friendly. Bathrooms are fine, proximity of sea is exceptional and surroundings are stunning. Thank you to Dimitri and his family and staff that make this such a welcoming place to stay.
