They did not disappoint. Now, service is also historically known for being slow during the late night hours. The atmosphere is pretty much a “be aware of your surroundings” location at night. So, weigh your options and choose wisely. Did I say that the food was the business?!?
You have to pay and wait for your food.. as we waited we realized how dirty the place was.. with dead plants on display. The employees were yelling and cursing at each other.. the smell of weed was coming from the kitchen.... we left when an employee said to another.. you can't serve that chicken it's been sitting in that pot all day.. my wife had ordered the chicken. I am so surprised to see positive reviews about this place.
Ok, I don't know if the ownership was changed or what, but this is not it. Paid for and extra chicken and look what was given in the small container, like come on now . The whole flavor of the Detroit 1 pita has changed. I'm not gonna be going back. Ohh don't even let me get to the parking in the back. It needs to be redone. We should not have to drive in craters just to get to the restaurant .
I Love this place. I have been eating food from here for at least 16-20 years when I lived in the area. I now stay East. This particular time I had had a taste for a stir fry, but Many Coney Islands that I searched don’t make them anymore . A co-worker found a place that made a stir-fry, and it didn’t come close to Detroit Ones Stir fry I remember !!! I live off East Jefferson, and I’ll drive to Woodward just to get their Stir-fry. The Detroit One Stir-fry is by far the best I’ve ever tasted!!?
Dirty dining area, but you can see the food is prepared clean. I'm sure it's because of the pandemic that it looks like this. Before they used to have wait staff for tables. But that's all gone now. Food was great though.
