The interior has a lovely mix of antique and modern decor, but I found the seating a bit uncomfortable. I ordered a hazelnut latte with oat milk, and it was delightful—well-prepared and beautifully arranged with latte art, which I really appreciated! I also tried a croissant and a raspberry muffin, but I was a bit disappointed. Both tasted stale and dry, even after being warmed up. After one bite of the croissant, I didn’t feel like eating more, and I ended up leaving most of the muffin uneaten. On a positive note, the barista—who I think was named Taylor—was incredibly friendly and approachable. She brought my food to the table with a smile, even at such an early hour! Overall, while I would consider returning for another coffee and to enjoy the great service, I wouldn’t make a special trip just for this place; I could see myself stopping by occasionally.
I've been visiting Detroit several times a year for work over the past decade, and for the last five years, I’ve consistently chosen to stay at The Siren. This hotel captures everything I appreciate in a boutique experience: a charming atmosphere, distinctive character, friendly staff, a lovely little bar, and even a barista in the lobby. Its downtown location is ideal for anyone visiting the area. Recently, they launched a new dining concept called Ash that takes the experience to the next level. The restaurant features a relaxed vibe, with large picture windows on the second floor that brighten a beautifully designed dining area and bar. The food is outstanding—simple yet incredibly tasty. As someone who has been married to a restaurateur for 28 years, I know how tough it can be to run a successful restaurant. When I come across a new place that impresses me, I feel the need to share it with others. So yes, even though it’s situated in a hotel, I highly encourage you to check it out—you won’t be disappointed!
Welcome to one of the delightful treasures that make Detroit truly unique. The Siren Cafe, located in the lobby of the beautifully designed Siren Hotel, is a must-visit. Both the coffee and the service are exceptional. You can either relax in cozy armchairs in the lobby or work on your laptop at the communal table while enjoying your drink and a scone. I make it a point to visit the Siren at least once a month, and it always leaves me feeling wonderful about our city.
What a delightful little coffee shop located in the lobby of the Siren Hotel! The coffee here is outstanding, and the cozy lounge chairs and tables provide an ideal setting for reading or working. The music contributes to a fantastic ambiance, evoking the charm of the 1920s. I also appreciate the greenery; it adds a refreshing touch, especially on a winter day!
For a genuine Detroit, Michigan experience, you absolutely must stay at the SIREN! The decor is breathtaking, the location is perfect, and both the bar and restaurant are outstanding. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the history of the place enhances its charm. This is a unique experience that you won't want to miss! Located in the heart of Detroit, it’s ideal for discovering this amazing city!
