We were a family of twenty three coming together from many places over two hours travel) for the first time in many years for a social which was simply that and not a funeral or wedding. Wow, was it worth it. The pub were amazing. They gave us a separate dining area, lovely dedicated staff and excellent food at a good price. They basically ‘sorted it’ in a supportive and lovely way allowing the family to catch up and have a great time. including children of various ages) The staff were kind enough to say we are welcome to return. Highly recommended.
We stopped in the pubs campsite for an overnight stay, good facilities with easy access. Disappointed with pub, not as good as we remember, all a bit tired. They still do a good Wadsworth 6x Price per person: £30–40 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

This is one of the best village pubs around. The food is first class. Steaks are exceptional and the pies are fresh with delicious pastry. Ideally situated for canal visitors and for camping and caravanning folk from the nearby site. The pub actually has it's own caravan pitches to the rear which we will try next time we come back.
