The only thing I would change is the gluten-free gravy; I’m not a fan since it contains ginger, which doesn't mix well with poutine for me. I wish their original gravy could be made gluten-free!
I've never gotten sick from Swiss Chalet. They offer a gluten-free menu and have a separate fryer for gluten-free items. I give them four stars for safety due to a potential risk of cross-contamination.
The restaurant offers a separate gluten-free menu, which is great. The chicken and ribs are gluten-free, and they even have a separate fryer for the French fries. While the traditional sauce is gluten-free, be careful with the mild sauce as it is not. The waitstaff are very knowledgeable about gluten-free options. As a nice touch, my meal was served with a mini Canadian flag on a toothpick to indicate that it was gluten-free.
I've ordered from this restaurant several times and had positive experiences each time. They informed me that they use a dedicated fryer, which makes their fries gluten-free and dairy-free. I also learned that the chicken from the 1/4 chicken meal and the garden salad (without dressing) are both gluten-free and dairy-free. I believe their house salad dressing is gluten-free and dairy-free as well, although I didn't try it. My food was clearly labeled as gluten-free and dairy-free, so I felt confident and safe eating there. I will definitely order from this restaurant again.
The staff were exceptional, and my food was clearly labeled for allergies. I enjoyed my meal and had no issues. I would definitely recommend this place.
