My wife and I, both food enthusiasts, ventured through the narrow alleys to reach Nagameez, a small and cozy restaurant. We were hopeful for a good meal, so we ordered the Naga pork curry. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the dish. The curry had an overpowering smell and taste of bamboo shoot, with an unbalanced mix of ginger, garlic, and chili. It was not up to our expectations. It's hard to say if this was just an off day for the restaurant or if this is their usual preparation. Overall, we found that Naga Kitchen on GS Road served more authentic Naga dishes and did a better job.
We are a baptized pig friends and thought that nagameez would be able to satisfy on a big demand day. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. for beginners, only one of the chefs seemed to be nagameez, but the rest I am not sure. what I would say is really disappointing. we ordered pork in black sesame, which was runny, pork thalis, which were just about ok, smoked pigs, which was probably the only decent plate. I had so many expectations, and we agreed that eating with all the Naga aromas should be hot, but somehow it didn't meet the short ones. avoid this place, there are better eating outs in guwahati
A nice rest is located in a 5 minute drive from guwahati train station. delicious food that does not hit her bag hard. also the interiors have been worked up very tastefully.
I was in the neighbourhood and a couple of my out-of-towner friends had a craving for pork. As luck would have it, I was pleasantly surprised, what with past disappointments at Naga Kitchen. Their portions were generous with some extra side dishes that you wouldn't...find at Naga Kitchen or elsewhere. The pork pickle, akhuni, mashed potatoes, roasted eggplant, etc gave an extra zing to the simple pork thalj we were expecting. Taste wise as well, they were spot on. Would love to go back again.
