Ellaray's Cafe - DISTRICT HEIGHTS

We have visited this restaurant multiple times and have never been disappointed. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus offer a fantastic variety, and everything is always delicious. Our favorite dish is the oxtails, which are tender and perfectly seasoned; they pair wonderfully with rice and various sides. Some of our other favorites include the mac and cheese, lima beans, cabbage, and cornbread. Although we've never been able to dine in due to current circumstances, I am thrilled to enjoy this amazing food through takeout. I highly recommend it!

Hidden Gem! I had the fried pipe with Mac and cheese and greens! The fish was decent size fillets, fresh, seasoned and fried to perfection! But BABBBYYY that Mac and cheese!!!! That's all I said. I have gone past this place many times, never thought to try until an employee recently recommended. Admittedly, they have lost my order and I waited for a while for my food, but the Mac and Cheese alone made the mistake. And the man in the register gave me a mini-sweet cake for my problems, which was also good! So I won't make any points for it... The staff seemed to be in good spirits and help! What you don't find in many places. The mood was also very friendly and family like.

Today, Ellas Essen was absolutely amazing and delicious! I had the catfish dinner accompanied by seasoned greens and potato salad. Thank you for always being a fantastic Black-owned business. You are always in my thoughts and prayers!

This was my first time dining at Ella's, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first. However, I’m really glad I gave it a chance! I ordered the turkey wings with mac and cheese, cabbage, rice, and gravy, and it was delicious. I'm definitely in love and plan to return!
