I ordered brown stew chicken for myself and my dad but it was a complete let down. At least the cabbage was decent. Next time I will go into the city instead of wasting my time.
First time here not the last! Ordered there curry chick lunch special that came with drink UNDER 10$. It’s by far one best curry chicken i had meat fell off the bone 10 stars!
J Chicken was fabulous but rice was not cooked completely or was microwaved. Second time through and will visit again. Note that the chicken was awesome.
I recently tried this place, as I noticed that it appeared to be relatively new. I'm huge on supporting local businesses in my neighborhood. I had a taste Caribbean food so I decided to try it.Service was warm and friendly. No issues there.I wanted to try the oxtail dish, but it wasnt available. Instead, I ordered the curry chicken. I felt it could've been better, particularly with the seasoning. It also felt like it could've been simmered/cooked longer. I didn't get much curry flavor throughout.I'll try them again at some point with hopes of trying some of their other dishes.
I had lunch today, Friday, 9-2-22 at the JamRock Jamaican Restaraunt. I had the lunch special : Brown Stew Chicken Meal. I added side orders of plantains, festivals, j patties and a large Sorrel juice. I was in no rush; I had no particular problems on my mind. I was just Hungry. I positioned myself for my dine-in experience, by the far end corner of the high counter top table; with a bird 's eye view of the shopping center. Within, minutes, my meal tray was ready; steamed from the freshly dished, chicken, red beans and rice; steamed cabbage, all covered in that sweet and nicely seasoned brown stew gravy. Bite, after, bite, I ate. Suddenly, I was mentally transported to that small island in the Caribbean Sea, mixed in with the larger Atlantic Ocean; the island cool runnings and soon come motto, coupled with that infamous doctor breeze trade wind blowed any unconscious worries I had. Suddenly! without realizing the time; I had completely ate all my meal; and only to discover the breeze I felt was from the over head fans. My lunch moment had come to an end. I had now to face the reality of a complex world, right here at Penn Station Mall. So, until, next time, I won 't forget my experience today at JamRock . Bon Appetit!
