Harper's Restaurant And Bar

We love Harper's and have been loyal and regular customers since they first opened. The food has only gotten better over time, and the cocktails are always a highlight. However, we had a frustrating experience during our last visit. We had an early dinner reservation for 5:30 PM and entered an empty restaurant, only to find out we were not given a table. We were placed in the back room, which isn't as appealing as the front, but that was where we were seated. We expressed that we couldn't stand due to our timing, and as regular customers, we felt it was disappointing that we weren't accommodated, especially since the restaurant was empty. I didn't want to create a scene, so I decided to let it go. Perhaps I should have communicated my concerns more clearly in advance.

It took some time for a server to come to our table, but when she did, she was friendly. The salad was excellent; however, the entrees (pork schnitzel and salmon) were just mediocre. The pork was too thick and overcooked. The bartender also serves quite small drinks. Parking in the area is a hassle. This is not a place we plan to return to.

The portions are quite small, the menu is limited, and the prices are high considering the amount of food served. I was very disappointed and do not plan to return.

Harper's offers wonderful local dining and drinks. It's a great place for couples or groups of any size, or even solo. The room and bar are comfortable, and there's a lovely courtyard garden open in the warm season.
