Contribuisci feedbackOur table server was lovely and the view to the lake was outstanding. I had never heard of the red wines except for Darioush, at about $150 for a half bottle. I ordered the $17 cab and it was nearly undrinkable. I thought about getting a different glass, but the others were around $11. Considering the markup, those would have been awful, too. Bread plates were on the table, but no bread was offered. My Caesar with Mahi Mahi was great, the fish cooked perfectly. The Brussel Sprouts had great flavor, along with the spicy BBQ sauce. Could have been roasted a little more. Side Caesar salad was good but it would have been nice to get the anchovies we asked for. My husband's cioppino cried for more broth, but the half lobster tail was a nice addition! Otherwise, mostly shrimp. $62 is the most we've ever paid for cioppino, and he orders it all the time. We had a nice time because the table server was so warm and friendly.
From being greeted when we arrived, to all the service we received during our meal, I give Jakes a superior 5+ Stars. My wife and I had a wonderful time as always and we will return.
Entire experience was disappointing and embarrassing when bringing out of town guests. Server did not understand menu, did not serve water, delayed cocktail drinks, over explained rational and justifications for why from server and manager on food delivered. They did offer more food or drink service, but it was just too late in meal to enjoy. Won't be coming back as there are just other places in Tahoe to enjoy.
We went to Jake's for a birthday dinner. I had the macadamia nut crusted halibut and was cooked perfectly, I asked for more of the sauce that complimented the fish. My wife ordered the palm salad and added mahi but the mahi was a little overcooked. We sat out on the balcony which is a little tired and needs sanding and staining. The service was very good, the music was at a nice level. Overall a nice evening.
Service was great! We have eaten here 2 times and very happy with everything!! We have had the pork chop, scallops, calamari, crab cakes (best crab cakes ever with lots of crab meat and very little filler! Halibut dinner and the special last night was a 12 oz Boneless ribeye and I added grilled asparagus and sauted mushrooms for my sides, excellent!! Presentation is always beautiful! Well worth the prices!! Dessert was the Hula Pie..delicious!
