The restaurant had a friendly staff and had a classic old-style pub atmosphere, complete with a meat raffle. The portions were large for the price and the food was of good quality. The Veal Kebab special of the day was exceptional - flavorful, tender, and juicy. It was so filling that most people in the room struggled to finish it. The scallops, fisherman's basket, and burgers were also delicious. The only downside was that the room was really noisy due to all the hard surfaces, and the car park was gravelly and muddy.

From the outside, this restaurant may not look like anything special, but once inside, you'll find it to be authentic and unpretentious. My husband tried the lamb shanks and enjoyed them, although he found the sauce a bit too tomato-heavy. The meat, however, was incredibly tender. I opted for the Chicken Donny (or was it Donny Chicken?) and it was absolutely divine. The flattened and grilled chicken breast was smothered in a delicious sauce made of bacon, mushroom, and chili. The mushrooms and bacon were finely chopped, giving the sauce a unique texture. The chili added a hint of heat without overpowering the flavors. The staff was friendly, and my husband was so comfortable by the fireplace that he didn't want to leave. Overall, our experience was fantastic.

This is one of the few authentic Australian pubs remaining in Melbourne. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is excellent, and they still serve delicious classic pub meals. There is a backyard where kids can play and a small arcade area in the back. The only thing missing is a playground, but the kids are still entertained by watching the trains go by. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

I have been here a numerous amount of times and I have always had a good meal! It can be very busy at times but the wait is never too long. It is definitely worth a try.
