One of us was given a knife with the blade facing outwards. We waited for thirty minutes only to find out they had run out of main dishes. The bill was too expensive for the quality of food we received.
I had a great time on my first visit to this restaurant. I went to see live music to support a friend, and the show put on by a group called The Rock Project was fantastic. The songs were unforgettable, there was a lot of audience engagement, and the atmosphere was lively. The bar snacks and drinks were delicious, and the staff were excellent all night. I highly recommend the hummus and the skin-on fries. I didn't get a chance to try the baked treats at the bar, but they looked tasty. I will definitely be visiting again soon and am excited for future live music events. Having the show in the garden area was a smart move, especially in this weather.
The pub is lovely and the staff are very friendly. The garden is small but well looked after. The toilets were clean. During our visit, there were also cakes being sold, although that may have been a special event for the jubilee. There is a good selection of drinks and snacks available, although we did not try the food so we cannot comment on that aspect.
Nice little feature on the way up to the top of Box Hill. Great spot for picking wild garlic around May time!
This is a fantastic place and everyone is so naturally kind!
