Contribuisci feedback1. We were greeted by unfriendly hosts. 2. We were scolded for arriving late, despite not being able to contact them beforehand due to lack of mobile service. We were treated poorly. 3. As they scolded us, they locked the door to where our bikes were kept, making us feel trapped. We were too shocked to respond, but in hindsight, we should have left immediately to find other accommodation. 4. While unpacking our bikes, we were informed that the kitchen was closed and given only 10 minutes to freshen up for dinner, with only pasta and chicken as options. This seems to be the standard for late arrivals, as noted in a previous review from 2017. 5. Dinner pricing was not mentioned upfront. 6. During dinner, we were asked about breakfast options and this time were presented with a menu. 7. The room was small and felt dirty, with my bed uncomfortably close to the bathroom wall. 8. During breakfast, the staff reminded us of the time repeatedly to ensure we left by 10am, which was actually a relief. 9. We were given out-of-date breakfast bars for our cycle, which was disappointing.
Upon returning from work on Monday night, I was told that I had to have the Roast Chicken dinner without being given a choice. When I called Lesley to provide feedback, she abruptly hung up and blocked my number. The room was not clean, with dirt and dust everywhere. I felt like I was being constantly monitored. There was dampness, and the paint was peeling off the walls and ceilings. The food did not meet my expectations, so I only ate on Monday night to avoid being ungrateful. I left a review on booking.com, but I doubt it will be seen as only positive reviews are posted. Lesley mentioned that no one has ever given a negative review about the room conditions, which left me very disappointed.
I stayed at this restaurant for one night during a work trip, booked by Hotel Smart (which provided poor service). The hosts were very friendly and the meals were delicious. However, the room was of very poor quality. It was so cold that I had to sleep in my clothes, feeling like I was back in the 70s with no money for electricity. I was grateful to have hand wipes to clean the sink and toilet. For the price of £69 for the room and breakfast, it definitely wasn't worth it.
My friend and I called in one early evening around 6.30pm hoping to get a bar meal, nothing too elaborate just something to ward off our hunger..We were greeted with how they didn't do food only for residents and it was not worth there while taking people off the road for food. We are talking about mid-season, no wonder the North has such a bad press from visitors when we can't even get a bag of chips at tea-time!
The host and hostes were helpfull and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed for an evening meal which was delicious. I would stay at this hotel again.
