Proper bar with proper food great friendly lad behind the bar, nothing was too much trouble. Food was great and certainly plentiful! Nice atmosphere and welcoming. Would recommend and hope to visit again
We popped in here for a late lunch. The food was good and the barman was friendly. He even brought water for our dog. With a pleasant atmosphere and good value food, this is well worth a visit. I'm sure it is a totally different place during a football weekend, but it was quiet when we visited.
We weren’t sure where to find dinner in this tiny sleepy town, after some googling and calling around we stumbled upon the Mallard and I am very grateful we did. The staff was incredibly pleasant and kind. Definitely tried to make sure we had the best experience possible, and we did! Would honestly go out of my way to go back to this place
On Saturday, I had a disappointing experience at The Mallard, thanks to a female bartender who had a haircut reminiscent of a "can I speak to the manager" style. While waiting for access to the accessible toilet, this bartender decided to embarrass me in front of other patrons by insisting that the toilet was only for those with visible disabilities. While I appreciate her attempt to educate me on the proper use of the accessible toilet, I do not appreciate being discriminated against because she did not understand that disabilities are not always visible. Normally, my visits to The Mallard are enjoyable, but this particular experience was unacceptable and left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps this staff member could benefit from additional training to broaden their understanding and empathy towards others' conditions.
