Most of the eateries are closed, the vending machines that should have water are sold out, and it's JUST 3 o'clock. We have been here since 1p and I really would like my money back. I paid $200 for a family of four to enter, and since a lot of the rides and eateries are closed, there is no water to quench my thirst or cool us down, we should have paid half of that, especially since two of my four are 8 and under. If I could give advice to anyone thinking about coming before the weekend, DON'T!!!!! The weekend may be better, but this being my first experience here, it will definitely be my last!!!!!
This is a good place if you have little kids. I went in March and the bigger, faster rides were not working and/or kept shutting down and opening up randomly. But the kiddie smaller rides looked fun and the kiddos seemed to enjoy it. The food here is severely over priced and TERRIBLE! But the highlight was the fried Oreos and the fact that the park was so small we rode several rides twice.
Winterfest at Kings Dominion has been an incredible experience the past 2-3 years! You can walk around and see beautiful lights that make the experience all the more magical. Venture into the park and they have activities of all sorts. You can go ice skating to decorating cookies with Mrs. Claus. They have fun arts and crafts for kids. They have the 12 days of Christmas ride that you can ride on the old antique cars and count down the 12 days. It is fun singing along while seeing beautiful lights. Don 't miss the entertaining shows and performances around the park: from Four Drummers Drumming , Jingle Jazz , Sounds of the Nativity, The MisleTones and more. You can even find the perfect gifts for friends and family at the shops that small business owner 's are selling. Take in the sights and the lights along WinterFest Way on a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride!-There is a separate charge for this activitySome rollercoasters are open depending on the weather and temperature
Our family had a great time on the last day of the Winterfest. The parking was easy and the weather was beautiful. We arrived around 5:30 pm when the park is open, It is already packed. My guess would be many people actually wait for the openings. The park was decorated very nicely and full of festival spirits. Most of the rides take less than half hour wait. Overall, a great experience and would definitely going back.
I make an effort to visit a theme park each year! This year's stop was Kings Dominion!I haven't been to Kings Dominion since I was in college. Prior to that, I used to go in the late 90s. Nothing has changed since then. Same characters. Most of the same rides. What I can appreciate is the price for admission. We paid $65 per person. Not bad compared to other well known parks. Food and merchandise is extremely high. I paid $15 for two slices of pizza. In addition, my boyfriend paid almost $20 for 4 shrimp, side of rice and mixed vegetables. Although, I appreciate the food selection, the prices are ridiculous.Kings Dominion Team- Please update your park. New characters and revisit the theme. It's time for a change.
