Conestoga Steak House - Dothan

My family hadn't eaten here in several years, and took the time for a visit.This store has been a staple of the city of Dothan for a very long time, and we were looking forward to our meal. We got there around 7pm on a Friday night, and only had to wait about 15 minutes.The restaurant itself was a bit outdated. The room we ate in had no real theme or decor. Just dated.Kenna was our server. She was very pleasant, and did a good job of making recommendations while also explaining a bit of the menu. The menu was simple, withonly a small amount of options. I guess they try to be exceptional at a small amount of menu options, which can be really good.I ordered the 10 ounce ribeye medium rare. While the steak was cooked to the perfect temperature, it left me wanting more. There wasn't much in the way of flavor. I have to say I was a little disappointed.That said, this place is worth another try due to its long history in Dothan.

Fries were good, shrimp skewers amazing. Pretty sure my hamburger was a frozen patty put in the skillet. Looked like something you would get at a school cafeteria. Filet mignon cooked right, but no flavor. I’ve had a lot better filets and this one was so disappointing.

The best steak I’ve had in years, or possibly ever! I always order my steak tips well done, which can be risky, but these were amazingly tender, juicy and flavorful! The homemade rolls were delicious too. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, is the fact that they do not have real butter for those amazing rolls. That is doing a disservice to those rolls. I should also add that the atmosphere is lacking. It is old school, bare bones.

Steak was awful. Service was great. Ordered a sirloin but I got a ribeye. If ur looking for a great steak go to Big Mikes in Andalusia !!! This place needs some serious help!
