I would like to return to le dagobert to try something else from the menu.
This is a beautiful restaurant, with great food, and the staff was helpful, a perfect end for a beautiful holiday
What a sound in our last night in France! we began to despair that the wonderful traditional service and eating the French restaurants had been swallowed by the increasing trend for bistro style, character lacking restaurants that are food that we easily in. every number of facilities near to home, and then we found exactly what we were looking for! hooray for le dagobert! an old traditional hotel with slightly faded size houses a beautiful dining room with bed linen table clothing and serviettes, chandelier lighting and oozing character. the food was the best we had, was happy to see frog legs, delicious, and snail on the menu, I also had melt in mouth meat, my man had juicy deaf. the service was before place, the presentation first class. thank you. dagobert, they have our believe in the French cuisine and bee the culinary highlight of our holiday restored.
We ate at Le Dagobert on the recommendation of our hosts whilst staying in a chambre d'hôte nearby. This is a typical old French hotel-restaurant with an unprepossessing exterior but an excellent dining room. M. Sorin, the owner, is the chef and Mme. Sorin oversees...the dining room. Although there are other menus, the €18 menu du jour is great value with choices of four starters and main courses, followed by cheese or dessert. Food is cooked to order, of a very high quality and excellently presented. There is an extensive wine list and also local Saumur white and red wine available in carafes. M. Sorin takes great pride in his cooking and at the end of the evening comes around to talk to diners about the dishes they have eaten. This restaurant was an excellent recommendation.
Beautiful food. A picture on the plate. The dessert looked so gorgeous it was a shame to eat it. But the taste was as wonderful Had to wait, but didn't mind as everything was lovely
